Green Economic Development

A village at Akyazı, Turkey - 2009

Today's world has been experiencing a change ranging from economy, politics, environment and climate. As the result of these changes, the current conjuncture urges human beings to get adaptation and restructuring for the new conditions.

In the 20th century, the developed countries of the world have achieved their civilizations based on the fossil fuels, such as coal, petroleum and natural gas without taking into consideration the said black energy resources' undeterred bad results to the environment. Most of the developed foremost countries of the world have benefited from the fossil resources in their developing process to date. In other words, they have mostly built up their economies by using black colored energy resources. So it was called black economic model due to making development based on the fossil resources to get energy. From now on, the world has come to a phase that cannot endure such kind of development model. Because of such kind of development model has been exhausting the fundamental resources which are the indispensable for human and other living creatures to survive. Meanwhile still there are many countries that could not complete their development process.

Although they have not completed their development by using the elements of the black energy resources, they have been affected two folds from the negative effects of the black economic development model compared to the developed countries. Namely the poor nations suffer from the negative effects of the bad results of the black economy model such as global worming, climate change, drought and flood.

What is the solution to get rid of the black economic model?

The answer is green economic development as a safety growing economic model. The reality is that green production processes seek to minimize the impact of the manufacturing process on the environment at every stage.

Green economic model is assessed a direct focus on meeting human and environmental need. The green economy is based on the knowledge of ecological economics. In addition, green economy involves green energy generation based on renewable energy to replace for fossil fuels and energy protection for efficient energy use.

Green business strategies foresee the principle of environmental sustainability may constitute a key basis for competitive advantage in the coming decades. In the midst of the global economic crisis, the United Nations Environment Program called for a global green deal according to which governments are encouraged to support their economic transformation to a greener economy.

The green economy is considered being able to both generate green jobs, secure real, sustainable economic growth, and prevent environmental pollution, global warming, resource reduction, and environmental degradation.

Either green economics or green politics highlight the formation of positive alternatives in all areas of life and every sector of the economy. Many people think that green production simply entails instituting pollution controls or recycling programs when manufacturing goods. In order to realize the condition of the green economy; it is foreseen that the new economic processes must be designed and new rules of the game written, so that incentives for ecological conduct are built into everyday economic life.

If the 'green wave' opportunity can be mobilized effectively, all people can live in economically and environmentally healthy places. Also clean air, land and water are being recognized as fundamental human rights. The new production system is going to replace the old one, this will require new investments. The businesses are going to steer their product and packaging designs to use less materials.

Consequently, after this, new investment areas will be opened to transform the black economy into green economy throughout the world. And the natural resources' value will be increasingly growing more.
